Atos Origin sae (the merger between SchlumbergerSema and Atos ODS Origin) is the Spanish branch of this leader European IT services Company. ATOS ORIGIN is a founding member of the European Technology Platform NESSI (Networked European Software and Services Initiative) officially launched in September 2005 as industry’s commitment to cooperate on research and innovation in the strategic software, Grids, eServices and security sector for Europe. NESSI aims to define a strategic research agenda on software and services. Atos Research & Innovation (http://www.atosresearch.eu), node of R&D of Atos Origin in Spain, is a point of world reference in innovation for the whole Atos Origin group. It is focused in the project accomplishment, which combine the most advanced Technological developments and the economic exploitation of results in R&D. Our aim is to lead our knowledge and experience acquired to concrete projects with clients.

 

Role in INCO-TRUST and related experience: ATOS will lead WP4 which will link European research communities working in TSD systems and infrastructures to the best research carried out in other developed countries in the respective research fields. Tasks from this WP will create new ways of inter-community interactions including Workshops of multi-disciplinary research endeavours and will foster research community refreshing and cross-fertilisation. Atos Reseach & Innovation department concentrates on the realisation of international projects within the Consulting & Public Sector Division since 1989, combining the most up-to-date technological developments with a high awareness of the human factors and market conditions. Examples of related projects include: coordination action ESFORS (Coordination Action for the European stakeholders for security and dependability) and Serenity (integrated security engineering practices to support the development of secure systems in each phase of the system development).

Key personnel

Aljosa Pasic has double Bosnian-Dutch nationality. He graduated Information technology at Electro technical Faculty of Technical University Eindhoven, The Netherlands. From 1996 to 1998, he worked for Cap Gemini (Utrecht, The Netherlands) and in January 1999, he joined Sema Group Spain (now part of Atos Origin) as the project manager for Spanish Council of Justice project. His current position is Head of Department within Atos Research and Innovation, where, during the last eight years, he coordinated and participated in a number of EU projects from FP4, FP5, FP6 and e-Ten programmes, such as ACTIVE, IMPULSE, E-COURT, CB-BUSINESS, SPARTA, SECURE-PHONE, SECURE-JUSTICE, Certiver, BIMUS, ESFORS etc. Since 2003 he is certified as Project Manager Professional (PMP) and is a member of several Working Groups in international institutions such as PMI, ENISA or IFIP. He is also the chairman of Trust, Security and Dependability Working Group of NESSI (European Technology Platform for Software & Services).

Pedro Soria-Rodriguez CISSP, studied and worked in the United States, obtaining his B.S. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachussets doing research in the fields of cryptography and data security. His industry experience in the U.S. and Spain in information security spans both the military and commercial sectors, having worked in the design, development and management of data and network security systems. He is currently a member of Atos Origin staff in Spain, working on several security-related European projects (SecurePhone, SecureJustice). In the past he has worked with Technical Communications Corporation, Nokia, and Safenet among other companies. Recently he has also done consulting work on information security management systems for insurance, telecommunications and banking services companies. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and has successfully completed the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) exam.
